At its May meeting, LFPF advanced the preservation of this remarkable southwest-corner estate by submitting a nomination for local historic district status, celebrating its history, architecture, and cultural importance.

The Lake Forest Preservation Foundation (LFPF) regularly submits formal statements to the Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) regarding development projects that impact the historic visual character of Lake Forest, Illinois.

The Lake Forest Preservation Foundation celebrated the holidays on December 8 with members and friends at the Ralph H. Poole Estate in Lake Bluff, designed by David Adler and Henry Dangler in 1913.

It is with great pleasure the Foundation welcomes Jennifer M. McGregor as LFPF’s new Executive Director.

The almost 16,000 sq ft house in 2024 was a replacement for an 1880 large wood frame cottage for Lucy Sturges and Ebenezer Buckingham.
